David Philip Silva
Photographer David Silva grew up on the East Coast and moved to the Bay Area in 1976. He began to take photography seriously in the early 1980s when he embarked on his first of many bicycling tours around the United States and Europe. During the late 1980s, David was hired in the research and development division of Bicanchi Bicycles, and a year later, was asked to move to Italy to work on developing bicycles for their professional race team. During his five years in Italy, David focused his camera on the outdoors and architecture, as well as taking advantage of his proximity to some of the greatest cyclists in the world. David returned to the United States in 1996 and is currently a solar power project manager. He and his wife Elizabeth continue to travel around the world shooting photos and surfing waves wherever they can find them.
