Coastal Clash
As urbanization encroaches along the nation’s coasts, our shoreline has come under siege. Development is swallowing up miles of coastline; access to beaches is being cut off; and seawalls may be causing beaches to disappear. A battle is raging around the undamental question: Whose coast is it, anyway? Using California as an example, the one-hour, high-definition documentary takes an in-depth look at the many sides of the struggle. Environmental experts, coastal scientists, government representatives, community leaders, and property owners reveal the state's history of tension between public vs. private coastal interests. The film examines the science of sea walls and their effect on beaches, while offering examples of both failed and successful attempts at coastal development.

Slow the Flow: Make Your Landscape Act More Like a Sponge
Slow the Flow brings to life practices and projects that individuals and communities have created to steward our watersheds and slow down the flow of storm water, one of the largest contributors of pollution into our waterways The film features a landscaper who shocks his neighbors by putting in native landscaping; a school district that goes green; and a non-profit which puts gardens in the city. The projects and approaches highlighted are very low-tech, cheap, and beautiful -- making a good argument for kicking back and not raking the leaves or watering the lawn.

Wasted
Few people think about what happens after they flush their toilets. But the dirty little secret is that many of our sewer lines and wastewater treatment plants are aging, and all kinds of contaminants are making their way into our waters. Wasted! gets the scoop on poop and other water contaminants and how they are affecting our lives and our health, whether we know it or not. This hour long documentary combines original high definition interviews with archival footage and amusing animations to create a humorous, educational, and at times, frightening film about the health of our waters, as well as the health of ourselves.

One Winter Story
Sarah Gerhardt became a star in the surfing universe in 1999 as the first woman to slice across a monster wave at Northern California's legendary Maverick's. Media coverage, sponsorship and adulation followed, but Sarah's dramatic journey from poverty and despair to accomplishment and peace went unnoticed. Producers/ Directors Sally Lundburg and Elizabeth Pepin's "One Winter Story" traces Sarah's strength and determination to their roots in a beautiful montage of film, voice, memory and emotion. The surfing footage is an awesome sight but the fine, intensely immediate rendering of Sarah's experience is this unforgettable film's real reward. (Mill Valley Film Festival Review)
